The Rainbow Fish

The much awaited day had arrived. Clarice was going to watch her first play - The Rainbow Fish tonight! I was a bit anxious as I was not sure if Clarice could sit through the whole 45 minutes or fuss half way through the show. Kept my fingers and toes crossed that night before the play! Haha...

Clarice was in a very good mood after a powerful 3 hours nap. Daddy and I kept teasing her with this question "Clarice, where are you going huh?" She would replied "Watch Rainbow Fish."
We reached the venue about 10 minutes prior to the show. We had good seats, 3rd row from the stage. Clarice seemed excited and happily settled herself on her booster seat. Due to copyright issue, no photography was allowed after the show started :(

When the show started, the lights dimmed and I could heard some children burst out crying. I guess some kids are afraid of the dark. Luckily, Clarice was not afraid. When the sea creatures appeared on the stage, Clarice went "WAH, Wah, wah!!!" So cute! She was swaying to the music and waving to the performers. She was fascinated by the colourful sea creatures especially the starfish and clapping when the audience clapped.

However, she started to get restless halfway through the show. Luckily I brought some sweet potatoes puff to bribe her. Hee...She managed to finish the whole show while munching on her snacks.

Clarice enjoyed the opening and ending segments of the show the most as there were songs and it showcased different colourful sea creatures.

I doubt Clarice understood the content of the show but anyway she enjoyed herself and it was a good exposure to her. Overall, I felt Clarice did well tonight and it gave me more confidence to bring her for more plays. It was indeed a good start :)
